Summer Programs at Harvard University

1. The Academies Description: Harvard is offering a pre-professional program for high school students across many subjects such as business, Pre-med, Government, and Coding.

2. Data Science Summer Program Description: The objective of the program is to introduce students to machine learning and programming through a project in which they program machine learning algorithms to recognize images and make a self-driving toy car.

Our mission is to give young students opportunities to learn about AI/ML and to allow students from diverse backgrounds to have more opportunities to access quality education.

4. MEDscience Summer Programs Description: HMS MEDscience Summer Programs are open to high school students, in grades 9-12 at the time of application.

5. Pre-College Summer School Program for High School Students Description: Harvard’s Pre-College Program for high school students is an intensive two-week summer program designed to give you a glimpse of college life.

You will live on the Harvard campus during your two-week session while taking a college-level course with other Pre-College Program students.

Cost: $5,375 Format: In-person Application Deadline: Early April

6. Secondary School Program (SSP) Description: Harvard Summer School’s Secondary School Program (SSP) is a 4

- or 7-week academic program for motivated high school students ready to excel in academically rigorous college courses for college credit.

Within the SSP, you will choose between taking one 4-week course while living on campus, or our more flexible 7-week option that offers residential, online, or commuting formats with the potential for one or two courses.

Over the summer, you’ll gain the confidence to do well in college that comes from successfully navigating a healthy balance between advanced coursework, extracurricular activities, and new friends.

7. Summer Workshops Description: Whether you’re interested in debates but have never tried it or you’re a full-blown champion debater, or you’re somewhere in between, the 2-week Harvard Debate Council Summer Workshop has a spot for you.

The four programs you can choose from are Public Speaking for students without competitive debating experience; Public Forum for those currently competing; Congressional Debate, a Model Congress for those currently competing or looking to compete on national topics; and Policy Debate, a two-person debate event on topics implementing domestic and/or international policy.

You’ll work with instructors who are master persuaders themselves.
